Freezing Rain

As stated previously the whole jet lag has been throwing us for a loop. Yesterday morning we woke up at 5am only to realize that we still hadn't slept all night. We decided to sleep another hour and not run due to our exhaustion. During the day I received a call from David wondering if I'd be interested in going for a run after work. I was game so when I got off we headed out for a run. It felt good even with my legs being sore from Tuesday. (More than likely from having too many days off of running.) We both finally slept a good night's sleep last night for the first time in a long time. We woke up ready and raring to go at 5am. We got dressed, stretched, then I looked outside to find that David's car was covered in ice....freezing rain. We attempted to go outside to check it out and found that it was an ice rink when you stepped on the sidewalk. That's when we had the thought, "you know, it might not be a good idea to go out running in this." So I'm definitely glad that we ended up running yesterday night and I'm hoping that when I get home tonight it may have cleared up a bit and I can get out for a run. If not, I'll then hope that it's better tomorrow so we can run, even though Friday's are "non-running days." Gotta get back into the swing of things whether mother nature wants us to our not. We need to invest in some running spike things. That way we're ahead of the game.

Oh My Gosh! I was just cracking up laughing at some of your photos, too funny! (side view of jax, rear view of lily) ha ha ha soo cute!

I think you'll appreciate this little story. So, yesterday I'm walking down Kuhio Ave and I stop at this bakery called Saint Germaines, you may have seen it... anyway, there's a table with lovely pre-packaged cookies on them, so I look at a couple of them and noticed there were no price tags on them so I asked the lady behind the counter (who barely understands nor speaks english) "How much are these?" and she looks for the price tag and of course there aren't any so she walks over to the table looks at the others and says, "no price here, display only". I tell her, "This can't be a display, these are cookies". She says, "no. no. not for sale. display only" and goes back behind the counter. Unbelievable! Why would they have baked all these cookies, packaged them nicely, placed them on a table in the middle of their bakery just for a display. She obviously has no clue and probably will lose A LOT of sales! Aaahh!

Well, I have time this weekend so I decided to make chex mix instead.

Cheryl, I did appreciate your story =) It's kind of funny that you brought Saint Germaines up because we actually stopped there. We went by it a lot considering we stayed in the area while there. Anyway, It looked good from the outside (must have been those display cookies!) but when we went inside we found old baked goods. This was most likely due to us going late in the afternoon, so that's not that big of a deal. But what we found funny was that not only did they have the old funky looking baked goods out but also new ones right on the same tray. Now come on, what one would you choose??
